So sorry for my unintended blog vacation. This was my first busy season and it kind of kicked my booty. To make it up to you, I brought you flowers. Virtual, it’s true, but a whole field of them. I can’t think of a better way to start the new year than with a sea of sunflowers on the north shore. They are the happiest flowers around. They even initiated spontaneous hugging – twice! Mila never wants to hug other kids because two wobbly toddlers embracing tends to end in disaster.
Wishing you a happy new year! I’m excited to see what it will bring!
I didn’t post directions because the fields tend to move around every year. And they’re private. If you find them, please be respectful and definitely don’t pick any sunflowers. Bad form. While you’re on the north shore though, I highly recommend stopping at Paalaa kai bakery for some snow puffies.
Lots of Keiki Monday plans for the new year. In the meantime you may want to check the archives for fun things to do in oahu with kids!
Thanks Tia, I love them too! It’s a private farm on the north shore. They’re only in flower October – December so you just missed them. I can take you next year though!
Get my top ten list of spots in Oahu complete with photos + directions, so you know exactly what to expect. You’ll also receive ongoing adventures, beautiful images and happy updates. Escape to the islands once a month and learn exactly how to enjoy Hawaii like someone who raises their family here!
Heather, wow. Sunflowers are my very favorite. This place exists?? These photos are gorgeous! And the closeups of the bee?! You are so talented.
