Bellows Beach is one of my favorite spots on the island. The area by the guard shack is my absolute favorite at low tide because you have a shallow expanse of water that is perfect for babies and toddlers to splash in. Throw in a sunrise and a layer of mist hanging over the horizon and you pretty much have the perfect morning. This is one of Sarah’s favorite beaches too and there was no question where they would have their session. It had to be Bellows for their goodbye Hawaii photo session.
Then there’s little Tatum. So full of joy and loves to talk. She just turned one, so they’re not real sentences but she says them with great intensity and inflection. She may be little, but she has important things to say. She actually inspired me to finally learn how to use the video feature on my camera. You just can’t capture that little voice in photos!
The morning of our session was as good as it gets – beautiful sunrise, perfect light and a happy family. Tatum was running around chasing the waves and yelling with delight. She started to get bolder and venture further into the waves when she did a full face plant. Sand, water, and tears. After that she was a bit mad at the world, but it did make for some nice snuggle pictures.
She was looking defiantly at the camera as Justin threw her higher and higher. No fear this one. No fear.
The benefits of a face plant in the water? It really brings out those beautiful eyelashes.
