I’m sure it’s no surprise that I love photography. Can’t get enough of the stuff. My right wrist is fairly buff from holding a hefty camera so often. Okay, maybe that’s an exaggeration, but I love photography and I take photos of my kids almost daily. Not the here we are smiling at the zoo type pictures, but photos of the every day; photos that tell a story of who they are and what they love at a given moment – favorite stuffed animals, a perfect little curl on the back of their head, big bellies that hang over diapers, the way they have to line all their toys up in neat rows …
They’re growing fast, constantly changing and i’m frantically busy trying to balance work and family that it all seems to be passing in a blur. That’s why it’s so important for me to catch those moments. Plus, pausing to take photos keeps me grounded. It’s my way to put aside my never ending to do list and soak it all in.
Everyone should have great pictures of their kids! It’s actually the reason I decided to become a photographer. Of course I would love to take those photos for you, but I can’t be with you every day. That’s why I created a free photography class for moms (and dads!). I designed it to be a non-technical class so everyone could benefit – all cameras, all skill levels. There are 2 components, a 1 hour in-person workshop and a private Facebook group where you can post your images for feedback and inspiration from others. The class is super fun and i’m really excited to started!
