Okay, I feel a little silly. I have lived in Hawaii for over 10 years, 4 of those on the windward side and I only just now discovered Bellows Beach. It’s pretty massive and i’m not sure how I could have missed it. I guess I assumed it was a military only area, but it’s not. There is a 2 mile stretch of public beach (closed 8-noon on weekdays) that is incredibly beautiful. It’s like a giant Lanikai without the crowds.
